Biblioscape Lite
What Are You Missing
Not much, the following features are disabled in the Lite edition:
Format Manuscript: This is the probably the most significant limitation. Although you can define new styles with style editor and export references in desired style, it won't format your manuscript to generate citations and bibliography automatically.
Spelling Check: This is not important for most users.
Analyze References: Useful sometimes, but the lookup panel can do most the job.
SQL commands: Only useful for people who know SQL well.
Global Edit: Insert or change field text in a batch.
Eliminate Duplicates: Find and eliminate duplicate records.
BiblioWeb: For posting your bibliographic database on the web. This feature is only available in the professional edition. But, you get a database driven web forum application for free.
Charts module: For drawing flow chars, organization charts and link them to other records.
Tasks module: For managing daily to-do list related to your research.
Library module: For managing a small research library.
What Are You Getting
A lot, the best bibliographic tool for windows that can meet the internet challenge. The following is a list of feature highlights:
Integrated Web Browser: Search bibliographic database on the web and capture your search results directly into your database with one click (requires IE).
Notes module: For managing research notes.
Folders: Organize your reference collection into folders just like the way you organize your files with file manager Explorer.
Searching Engine: A super fast search engine that support logical operators, fuzzy search, and can find what you want faster than any other bibliographic software.
Style Editor: A visual style editor that let you define new journal style easily.
Import Editor: A built-in import editor, so you can import references from any sources.
Customizable View: The records display can be customized as list or icons.
And much much more...
