BiblioWeb is a web server application that is specifically designed for Biblioscape database. With BiblioWeb, all the basic features of Biblioscape are made available through web browser. Therefore, web users can search, browse, add, edit, delete, import bibliographic records. User can even format a document based on a selected style through the web. BiblioWeb administrator has the full control over who can add, edit, or delete records by assigning Read, Write, Admin privilege to each user. BiblioWeb can support hundreds of users at the same time.
BiblioWeb is an ideal solution for both Intranet and Internet environment. For Intranet use, it enables the whole organization to share a single bibliographic database with minimum maintenance effort. The administrator only need to install one copy on the server machine, all users will be able to access the application through a web browser. For Internet use, BiblioWeb provides an out-of-box solution that is more powerful than most custom designed software. The rich set of features, customizability, plus one step installation make publishing bibliographic database on the web an easy task for even the most novice users. The integration of web server and database functions into a single application also make BiblioWeb to achieve high performance. It can serve a large number internet users at the same time without performance loss.
BiblioWeb is installed as part of Biblioscape. The owner of Biblioscape Professional and Librarian edition can use BiblioWeb on a small scale. If more users need to be supported, additional license has to be purchased. BiblioWeb is licensed in three ways: the number of user accounts, the number of hits, or the number of concurrent users.
